Description
The Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition (APY) is an annual international competition run by the Royal Observatory Greenwich (ROG) and supported by the BBC Sky at Night Magazine and Flickr since 2009. This year the competition received more than 2500 entries from over 50 different countries on every continent other than Antarctica.
The competition is a great opportunity to bring astronomy to the attention of a wider audience, with strong media attention generating a reliable surge in public interest in September every year.
To help promote the competition and get more people interested in astronomy we are giving away a short planetarium show featuring images from this year’s competition. This includes many of the shortlisted and winning images. We produce a new show every year, made available after the competition results have been announced in late September.
