The Melbourne Planetarium is Australia’s oldest domed theatre. Since it was established in 1965, millions of visitors have passed through its doors. Located at Museum Victoria’s Scienceworks, Melbourne Planetarium uses cutting edge technology to present entertaining and informative fulldome shows with an original flavour.

For over 20 years Melbourne Planetarium has produced original content, with the latest in animations, science visualisations, musical scores and sound design. Our shows are well known for their presentation of science information and inventive story-telling, utilising the best of narrative and non-fiction modes. Melbourne Planetarium shows have won many awards, the most recent being the Director’s Award (Jena Fulldome Festival), and are distributed throughout the world.
