Description
Planetarium Hamburg opened in 1930. It is situated in a historic water tower, which was built 1912-1917 and located right in the middle of Hamburg’s city park (Stadtpark) – an architectural landmark of the city.
At the center of its sky theater sits the Zeiss planetarium projector “Universarium Mk IX”, which projects a magnificent starry sky on a dome spanning 21 meters – independent of daytime or weather. With as many as 300.000 visitors, Planetarium Hamburg may be even the most successful stand-alone-planetarium worldwide. Join us and enjoy a trip through space and time – relax in our theater on comfortable reclining-seats. Afterwards don´t miss the breathtaking panoramic view of the city of Hamburg from our observation deck on top of the water tower (admission free).
