[VIDEO] Experimental Use of Smartphones for Fulldome Movies
Abstract
Capturing footage in domemaster format is still not as spontaneous as filming with regular cameras. But why? With the improved resolution of smartphone cameras, it is possible to film 360-degree content and project the result in a dome.
This talk presents the results of the research undertook by Diego Arandia – student at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, Germany – and explores the use of smartphones to facilitate flexible recording, editing and preview of fulldome movies.
Claire Dorweiler is Fulldome lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, Germany. Diego Arandia is a Fulldome Student of the MA International Media Cultural Work, University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt.
This video was recorded at the 2019 Fulldome Festival in Jena, Germany.
