Deadline: January 31st, 2022
SAT FEST 2022: CALL FOR IMMERSIVE SHORT FILMS
Since its first edition in 2012, SAT Fest has become a major event for creators and lovers of immersive cinema. With its diverse selection of fulldome short films from around the world, SAT Fest has fuelled the imagination of thousands of spectators over the years and allowed them to discover the universe and creative vision of hundreds of visual and sound artists, both local and international.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Satosphère, its iconic 360° multichannel immersive dome, the Society for Arts and Technology is pleased to announce that SAT Fest is getting a makeover, and invites you to discover the new format next spring. As we await the official program, which will be announced with the event details in February 2022, our call for immersive films is now open until January 31, 2022.
What we're looking for:
From the start, SAT Fest has focused on experimentation, innovation, collaboration and artistic creativity. We are looking for short films that demonstrate an interest and mastery of the immersive medium, while offering audiences a rich and original collective experience.
Certain categories like educational, scientific, corporate and kids' films are not included in this call. However, these submissions may be considered by our jury based on their artistic relevance.
We recommend submitting only complete and finalized projects. Excerpts, drafts and trailers will not be considered.
Here are the recommended specs:
- Duration: 1:30 to 9:00 minutes
- Fulldome format films: 360 x 210 degrees
- 2048x2048 minimum
- 30FPS or 60FPS
- Audio: stereo, multichannel, ambisonic
