The 49th Great Lakes Planetarium Association conference will take place in Peoria, Illinois, from October 16-19, 2013. This year’s conference is running simultaneously with the annual meeting of the Illinois Association of Museums (IAM). The co-conferences are expected to draw 300 delegates from around the state and around the country. More than 30 vendors are expected between the two meetings. Delegates from both conferences will be free to attend sessions from either conference, and Scott Altman, Commander of the last Space Shuttle Hubble Repair Mission, will be the Keynote Speaker for both conferences. Our 40-foot, 186⁰Astro-Tec dome features an upgraded Zeiss ZKP4 Spacegate Quinto projection system and East Coast Control Systems lighting. The Zeiss upgrade was completed in the fall of 2012. We have moveable/removable seats and can accommodate up to 120 in comfort. (additional seats as needed)In addition to our Zeiss system, the planetarium has Uniview and an Alesis Adat HD24 laser system by AVImagineering.
