The Moscow Planetarium is excited to announce the Moscow International Science Films Festival (MISFF). The festival will take place at the Moscow Planetarium, November 7-10, 2024.
We are passionate about showcasing the best in science cinema from around the world. It is the only art form capable of comprehending rapidly developing technologies and lucidly explaining the most complex scientific discoveries. We dedicate the festival to the whole variety of science cinema: cartoons, classic films and, most importantly, fulldome cinema!
Planetariums have become pioneers of immersive science cinema! Fulldome cinema is a young field characterised by experimentation and the search for innovative production methods that can be easily combined with classical film-making methods. We are witnessing an explosive growth of the fulldome film industry! This would not have happened without the joint efforts of several hundred unique specialists. Every new project brings something new to the history of the genre, be it technical innovation or conceptual. When we talk about science cinema, we see the incredible stories of thousands of people who have dedicated themselves to enlightenment. As organisers of the MISFF, we are thrilled to support the amazing community of science popularisers: people who cannot imagine their lives without science cinema.
