Description
Fulldome show “Juniper” explores how sound and moving image merge within a live performance context. This unique show sees Slowly Rolling Camera perform their critically acclaimed third album Juniper in its entirety, accompanied by an immersive visual score created by 4Pi Productions that responds to the themes and creation process of the album.
Audiences are enveloped by the expansive jazz grooves, trip-hop and cinematic soundscapes of Juniper whilst transported to barren and busy environments within the UK, Norway, Spain, India and Finland.
With Juniper we tried to dissolve the boundaries between various artistic forms and disciplines by pushing the possibilities of storytelling within shared immersive spaces.
This 50 minutes shared Immersive artwork was originally commissioned by Ffotogallery as part of the 2019 Diffusion Festival. It received its world premiere on 3rd of April and was performed 4 times to sold out audiences in Cardiff within our custom built CULTVR Dome, which is a 12m diameter immersive theatre space.
“4Pi/Slowly Rolling Camera’s new immersive work Juniper is both a world premiere and the first full-dome immersive event of this kind in Wales. Through experiencing the performances, I want audiences to engage their eyes, ears and senses to imagine a future when boundaries between artistic forms and disciplines dissolve, and the world can be experienced differently.” David Drake, Diffusion Festival.
