Description
Urban Mindscape is a 50-minute audio-visual FullDome show that represents collaborative research combining neuroscience and architecture through immersive communication tools and cutting-edge technology. Bringing together insights from both fields the project aims at designing improved urban environments based on positive human experiences.
Prateep Beed (Neuroscience & Mental Health) and Sergey Prokofyev (Media Architecture & Urban Planning) present an immersive 360° experience exploring how humans perceive and navigate through space in urban environments. Using advanced immersive imaging technology, like the “Neuro-Space Dome,” the speakers investigate human interaction in physical space, taking the audience on a virtual tour of a city created specifically for this presentation. By combining neuroscience, architecture, and immersive tools, this show offers a glimpse into the future of designing human-centric cities that offer exceptional standards of living.
As part of Berlin Science Week 2022, project was invited to participate in a science communication event series called “Einstein in the Dome” at the Berlin Zeiss Planetarium by the Einstein Foundation. The show received a great response from the audience and garnered positive feedback on social media and in the press, leading to the announcement of a second show in April 2023 by the Einstein Foundation. The success of the show underscores the public’s significant interest in new forms of science communication and immersive scientific storytelling.
