DIVE - Immersive Arts Festival OPEN CALL 2025
The DIVE – Immersive Arts Festival is a successful initiative of the Bochum Planetarium in Germany. It originated from an initial collaboration between the Bochum Planetarium, one of the most visited star theaters in Europe, and the renowned Schauspielhaus Bochum in 2019. Since then, the festival has been held biennially.
DIVE stands for the four core themes of the festival: Digitality, Immersion, Virtuality, and Environment. Immersive arts—art forms that completely surround the audience or allow them to “dive in”—are at the center of this initiative. The festival’s unique focus on live performances within the diverse field of immersive arts has made it a resounding success with both the press and the audience in previous editions.
On November 7th and 8th, 2025, the 4. edition of the DIVE – Immersive Arts Festival will take place at the Bochum Planetarium.
For the first time, part of the upcoming festival program will be curated through an open call.
We are looking for works that combine performative arts from the fields of music, dance, theater, or other forms of performative artistic work with the immersive audiovisual media technologies of a modern planetarium.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 21st, 2025 (inclusive)
