Dome Content Creation at the Speed of Thought
Introducing Dome Tools, a cutting-edge solution for crafting and streaming real-time dome projections straight from Unity. The Dome Tools repository is freely available on GitHub and the Dome Viewer is available in the popular stores for VR:
Dome Tools make it easy to create complex projections and control them live, making the experience even more immersive for everyone in the room. Dome Tools handle the complex task of projection mapping, guaranteeing that the content appears perfectly proportioned in the dome. Our Unity package Dome Tools is a real-time fulldome toolkit with two modes: Dome Warp – a novel invariant distortion technique, and a traditional cubemap-based approach. Our toolkit supports BiRP, URP and HDRP render pipelines and is available as a UPM package.
Last but not least – with the Dome Viewer, creators can simulate how their work will appear in the dome, either on their PC or in VR, ensuring the visuals are working within the dome context. The application is compatible with Windows, Quest 2, 3 and Quest Pro. It can receive NDI streams, display Spout sources and play local video and image files. The Dome Viewer is available on GitHub and on the Meta App Store.
