Encompass: the digital dance project!
Encompass is an exciting digital dance project that connects young people across the world and gets them dancing. The project is part of Dancing for the Games which is inspired by London 2012 and part of the Cultural Olympiad in the UK.
There are several dynamic strands to Encompass and these include an interactive online-upload site. To participate in ‘Encompass Online’, and become part of this exciting project, just visit the project website where you can capture and upload a dance video in minutes.
Dance uploads, from all over the world, will become part of the projects’ final film, which will be showcased at a breath-taking event in a 360-degree igloo dome this July! You can also get inspired by our experts by watching the demo dance videos online - then trying it for yourself!
The Encompass Live Event will take place before the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in Much Wenlock, South Shropshire between 19th and 21st July and will use film and live performance to create a breathtaking show in a huge 360-degree digital igloo, with local and international artists performing live and on-screen. The film may also be shown on BBC Big Screens throughout the UK during the Olympics.
