We are hiring a full-time planetarium educator as part of the technical and science department of the Planetarium Mannheim, Germany.

For this position we are looking for someone with excellend didactic and educationa skills, as well as a university degree which included classes in astronomy, or someone with a PhD in astronomy.

The taks for this position include

• Organising live events in the dome using modern planetarium technology with a focus on events for children and young people
• Conception and realisation of more in-depth events - in addition to those offered in the dome - for children, young people and special groups
• Development of didactic material and realisation of new educational formats
• Supervision of groups of children and young people with a special interest in astronomy
• Contact and didactic support for teachers and educators
• Organisation and implementation of observation evenings for all age groups
• Organising external events, e.g. in local schools

Due to the nature of the job and the lcoation of the Planetarium the apllicant has to be fluent in German.
