SEPA Mini-Grant Program 2023-24
The Southeastern Planetarium Association is pleased to announce the continuation of the Mini-Grant program started in 2022 to provide financial assistance to the planetarium community. Inspired by the Mini Grant Programs previously offered by the International Planetarium Society (IPS) and the Pacific Planetarium Association (PPA) in response to the negative impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the planetarium community, the Southeastern Planetarium Association (SEPA) created a similar program and has continued the program into 2024.
Two individual grants in the amount of $1000 each will be awarded this year. To apply, complete and submit the application by October 15, 2023.
Grant recipients will be determined by the SEPA Mini-Grant Committee, based on several factors and on a case-by-case basis. Above all, the planetarium must show a need for the grant and communicate a specific use for the funds. Any planetarium may apply for a mini grant, but priority will be given to current SEPA members. Preference will be given to submissions that are project-based and that can possibly be shared with the larger planetarium community. Awardees will be notified by Nov 1, 2023 and will be posted on the SEPA website.
Grant recipients will be asked to provide a brief report about their planetarium and how the SEPA Mini-Grant was used, which will be posted on the website and appear in Southern Skies, the quarterly SEPA journal.
