The IPS Fulldome Festival Brno 2016 is starting
What, you aren’t in Brno? Well, that’s a big mistake! Because the IPS Fulldome Festival Brno 2016 is starting right now. On the other hand, you’d have to sit in total 26 hours and 25 minutes in the Brno Planetarium, if you decided to see all the 66 fulldome shows.
The IPS Fulldome Festival Brno 2016 competition will include shows from Australia, Brazil, China, France, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Holland, Russia, the United States, Spain, Poland, Thailand, Ukraine and Great Britain. There’s a show from every continent, except for Antarctica, which doesn’t have a planetarium or a production studio.
At the end of the festival we’re going to award three festival prizes: the Audience Award, the Brno Observatory and Planetarium Director’s Award and the IPS-Eugenides Foundation Award for the best educative document.
The IPS Fulldome Festival Brno 2016 is organized by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium in cooperation with the International Planetarium Society and the IPS Annual Conference Warsaw 2016.
The program began with an opening ceremony which was held by Joanne Young, the president of the International Planetarium Society, Petr Vokřál, the Mayor of the City of Brno, and Jiří Dušek, the director of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium.
