Association of Brazilian Planetariums
Description
The Association of Brazilian Planetariums (ABP) was founded on October 27, 1996, during the 1st Brazilian School of Astronomy, held at the Campinas Planetarium. On occasion the ABP by-laws and standing rules were approved, and its first elected Board and its Audit Committee.
Forty-three people, including representatives of Planetariums, Observatories, Museums and Astronomical Societies and Associations, attended the founding meeting of ABP.
With the primary objective of bringing planetarians together and becoming a bridge for information exchange and inter-institutional collaboration, ABP held nineteen meetings so far with an increasingly active participation. Since 2007, ABP is a proud affiliate of the International Planetarium Society.
