Established in 1962, the Hartnell College Planetarium is the only planetarium in Monterey County, California. Located in Salinas, it hosts thousands of visiting elementary school students from the surrounding area each year. The planetarium supports instruction in college level astronomy classes and offers regular shows to the public.
